Budding beauty queens from across South Tyneside are being given the chance to be crowned Miss Newcastle 2010 with regional heat set to take place next weekend.
The Dunes family entertainment complex at South Shields, will be hosting the South Tyneside round of the Miss Newcastle competition from 7pm on Easter Monday (April 5).
The competition is open to all girls aged 17 to 24, with the winner being chosen by a panel of independent judges including representatives from the Dunes and the Shields Gazette.
Entry is free but anyone wanting to take part must pre-register by picking up an application form at the Dunes or requesting a form via email by calling Sorted PR on 0191 265 6111.
All application forms must be returned to the Dunes before midday on Sunday, April 4.
The winner of Monday’s heat will be given the title of Miss Dunes 2010 and walk away with a free meal for two at Emilio’s Italian Bistro on the Dunes complex.
They will also be given the chance to join 19 other contestants from around the North East to compete in the glitzy Miss Newcastle final at Newcastle Civic Centre on May 21, where there will be a wide range of prizes up for grabs, including automatic entry into a Miss England semi final for the lucky winner.
Dunes owner Gillian Reader said: “There are hundreds of amazing girls here in South Tyneside and we want to see them represented in style in the Miss Newcastle competition 2010. We’re extremely proud that the Dunes is able to offer this opportunity for them to take part and are sure that the whole region will be backing whoever wins.”
Miss Newcastle 2010 is organised by Tyne Tees Models and sponsored by Eldon Square and the new Debenhams at St Andrew’s Way.
