If you’ve tuned into Capital North East so far this week you’ll have been waking up to a different voice at breakfast time and it belongs to former Miss Newcastle Hannah Gray.

Following the footsteps of Take Me Out star Jo Jo Hatfield, I’m A Celebrity winner Scarlett Moffatt and even Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, Hannah, who was crowned back in 2011 before going onto work in events management, is settling into the crack of dawn starts and life in the station's Newcastle city centre studio alongside fellow Breakfast presenters Bodg and Matt.

And the 25 year old from Ponteland, while relying on plenty of coffee to power her through, describes her new gig as a “dream job”.

“Hearing my name and seeing my face everywhere is a bit mad,” said Hannah, who previously answered the phones on the breakfast show before stepping up to the presenter role.

“I’m like ‘eh that’s not me!’ It’s mental, really, really strange.”

“This is all new for me. It doesn’t even feel like a job. I just go in and have a laugh with the guys, we talk about current things, music and exciting topics - I'm really enjoying myself so far.

“I do reach for the snooze button all the time but the good thing is you don’t have to get ready or put your makeup on when you work for the radio.

“You can just rock up however you get out of bed really!”

On the subject of dream celebrity interviews, Hannah is aiming for the A-list.

“I think male celebrity wise it would have to be David Beckham as I’ve got a bit of a crush on him.

“Female I think Rihanna, someone who would really make you starstruck.”

To see if Hannah manages to get either of the megastars into the Capital North East studio, tune into the Breakfast Show with Bodg, Matt and Hannah from 6 - 10am every morning.
